Step into a meaningful role supporting students in educational settings near West Chester, PA. Multiple full-time contract opportunities are available for dedicated Paraprofessionals and Teacher Assistants across various campuses. Openings span specialized programs, including Transition Autistic Support, Early Intervention, Emotional Support, and Intensive Autistic Support. Assignments may be located at Discovery Center/Morris Road, Learning Academy, or across the Itinerant North regiongiving you a chance to match your passion and skills with student needs.
Enjoy steady Monday-Friday hours while collaborating with experienced educators and making a real difference in students daily learning experiences. Contracts start soon (exact dates TBD), and a successful placement could lead to continued assignments into the next school year.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, or similar role in a school or childcare setting
- Familiarity with special education programsAutism support, emotional or behavioral needs, and early intervention highly valued
- Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, and adaptability in dynamic classroom environments
- Strong communication skills; able to work closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Willingness to travel (for itinerant roles), as well as flexibility across age groups and support areas
- Compliance with all required background checks and district onboarding procedures
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support to students, individually and in groups, under teacher guidance
- Assist with instructional activities, classroom management, and student engagement
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral goals in specialized settings
- Help create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development sessions
