This contract opportunity is located near Waverly, NY, with Eastern host sites in the Elmira area, and runs from July 6, 2026, through August 14, 2026. Enjoy a consistent weekday scheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pmwith approximately 27.5 hours each week, ideal for those seeking balance during the summer months.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid NY State License/Certificate for Teacher Assistants is required for Teacher Assistant roles
- 1:1 student support experience highly preferred
- Paraprofessional/Aide candidates encouraged to apply; certification may be required
- Passion for helping students succeed in a school setting
- Commitment to working the entire duration of the summer program
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Professional references available upon request
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, individualized support to a single student throughout the summer school day
- Assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs as guided by the supervising teacher
- Help facilitate engagement, inclusion, and safety within classroom and school activities
- Maintain open communication with instructional staff and parents/guardians as needed
- Support a positive learning atmosphere and uphold school policies at all times
