Bring your dedication and compassion to a rewarding position supporting elementary students as a paraprofessional. This full-time, contract role is set within a vibrant school environment in the North Chicago area for the 2026-2027 academic year. As a valued paraprofessional, youll work Monday through Friday, contributing 35 hours per week with time reserved for lunch and breaks. In this role, youll collaborate closely with teachers to guide elementary-aged students, especially those who thrive with extra support and benefit from positive, consistent behavioral management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers with classroom management and instructional activities
- Offer individualized support, including one-on-one assistance to students
- Provide guidance and encouragement during classroom lessons and activities
- Accompany and support students throughout the school day, including assistance with toileting needs as required
- Cultivate a caring, patient learning environment that addresses each childs needs
Requirements & Desired Experience:
- Active Illinois Para certification required
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students in a school setting strongly preferred
- Comfort and experience with toileting support is a plus
- Ability to contribute to an energetic classroom and build positive student relationships
