Make a positive impact supporting students in elementary and middle school settings in the Watsonville area! We're seeking dedicated paraprofessionals for contract roles available immediately through late May, 2027. Multiple positions are open to serve local schools, including Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary, Main Street Elementary, Soquel Elementary, and New Brighton Middle School.
As a vital resource for students and teachers, youll work in both one-on-one and classroom aide roles. Those with an interest in healthcare can also contribute as health aides, collaborating with school nurses to assist students with diverse health needsincluding g-tubes and other medical requirements. No specific license or certification is required, making this an excellent opportunity for caring, flexible, and compassionate individuals ready to grow their careers in education.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom aide, or similar role is highly valued
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to dynamic school environments
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, nurses, and other school professionals
- Eagerness to support children of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Reliable availability for a contract running through May 27th, 2027, covering 2832.5 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, fostering engagement in learning activities
- Assist with classroom management and instructional support under teacher guidance
- Work as a health aide (if interested), helping a school nurse with students day-to-day medical needs
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for all students
- Document student progress as needed and communicate effectively with staff
