Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting student success as a dedicated paraprofessional in an engaging school environment near Watseka, IL. This contract opportunity begins immediately and is guaranteed for at least four months, with the strong possibility of continuing up to twelve months. The position is full time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You will work 1:1 with a student who has emotional disabilities and diabetes at a specialized school dedicated to helping learners who require additional support. Your compassion and adaptability will make a meaningful impact each day.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois paraprofessional certification
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Paraprofessional endorsement
  • Previous experience working in school settings preferred
  • Familiarity supporting students with both emotional needs and health concerns like diabetes
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrators

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the assigned student throughout their school day
  • Assist with social-emotional and behavioral interventions as needed
  • Monitor and help manage the students health needs, including diabetes care in collaboration with school nurses
  • Reinforce learning activities and classroom expectations
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful environment that promotes student growth
