Job Description

This contract opportunity, based near Waterbury, CT, offers the chance to work full-time with a single school for the remainder of the academic year, starting as soon as possible. Youll play an important role assisting students and supporting classroom teachers in a welcoming environment.

Ideal Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional or RBT in a school setting
  • Familiarity with classroom support strategies and techniques
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members
  • Comfortable working with students across elementary to middle school age groups
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to de-escalate challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and emotional support to assigned students throughout the school day
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups under the supervision of a lead teacher or special education professional
  • Assist with lesson plan delivery and classroom management
  • Support students during transitions, activities, and throughout their daily routines
  • Help with documentation, organization, and tracking student progress
  • Attend relevant meetings, training sessions, and collaborate as part of the support team
