Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or behavior specialist, preferably within a school setting
• Familiarity with life skills or behavioral support programs
• Ability to collaborate well with teachers, therapists, and other staff
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with students of varying needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required (additional educational certifications preferred)
• Commitment to supporting individualized education plans (IEPs) and positive behavior interventions

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in life skills and behavior-focused classrooms to support academic, social, and emotional learning
• Implement teacher- and specialist-designed instructional activities
• Assist with developing strategies to encourage appropriate behavior and help students build self-regulation skills
• Facilitate student participation during lessons, activities, and transitions
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and other professionals to monitor student progress
• Provide feedback and observations to inform program adjustments
• Ensure a safe, inclusive classroom setting for everyone
