Qualifications and Experience Needed:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, classroom assistant, or similar support role
• Skilled in providing both behavioral and academic support, especially in a 1:1 setting
• Understanding of elementary education principles and classroom management
• Patience, strong communication, and a caring approach when working with young learners
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families
• Flexibility to assist with daily classroom tasks and adapt to students changing needs

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Offer 1:1 support for a student requiring academic reinforcement and behavioral guidance
• Assist with classroom routines, including helping students complete assignments and participate in group activities
• Implement strategies outlined in students individualized support plans, working alongside educators
• Monitor and document student progress, sharing observations with instructional teams
• Reinforce positive behaviors using proactive and consistent methods
• Provide sensitivity and encouragement, helping foster confidence and success in each learner
