Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings
- Proven ability to provide academic support and adapt to diverse student needs
- Experience working 1:1 with students exhibiting behavioral challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to follow individualized education plans and collaborate with teachers and specialists
Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent 1:1 academic assistance to an elementary student, following established plans
- Support behavioral interventions, encouraging positive choices throughout the school day
- Work closely with classroom teachers to align support strategies and track student progress
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with classroom activities, organization, and routine tasks
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training as needed
- Modify activities and instructions to address each students unique learning style
