Applicants with paraprofessional skills will excel in this role, utilizing their experience for the benefit of both students and staff. Expect a full-time commitment of 40 hours weekly, working directly with students from kindergarten through high school.

Key qualifications and desired experience:

  • Prior experience as a school paraprofessional or classroom aide, especially in special education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and staff
  • Ability to follow instructional plans set by lead teachers and adapt activities as needed
  • Organizational skills to help manage classroom resources and student documentation
  • Patience and empathy in supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications a plus

Core responsibilities:

  • Assist special education teachers in supporting students' academic, behavioral, and social/emotional growth
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction under teacher direction
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support students with daily classroom activities and accommodations
  • Assist with progress monitoring and documentation
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, or recess as needed
