What Youll Bring:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience as a paraprofessional or sign language interpreter in school environments
- Ability to work effectively with young children, especially at the elementary level
- Commitment to providing one-on-one support
- Professionalism and reliability in a contracted school role
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Serve as a 1:1 paraprofessional for a 1st-grade student, providing direct support throughout each school day
- Facilitate communication between the student, classmates, and staff through ASL interpretation
- Assist in classroom activities, ensuring the student is engaged, learning, and included
- Work closely with educators and supervisors to carry out individualized learning plans
- Monitor student progress and help implement strategies to overcome challenges
- Foster a positive, accessible, and supportive educational environment
Assignment Details:
- Full school year contract: ASAP through June 4, 2026
- Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day (totaling 30 hours per week)
- Onsite at a single elementary school, focusing on supporting one student in a mainstream classroom
