Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering classroom instruction and implementing individualized learning plans.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students.
  • Assist students with classroom activities, organization, transitions, and daily routines.
  • Reinforce positive behavior strategies and help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and administrators to support student success.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, instructional materials, and documentation as needed.
  • Support students with varying learning, developmental, behavioral, and physical needs while encouraging independence.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive communication with students, families, and school staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or students in a school, childcare, or community setting is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and contribute to a collaborative school environment.

Compensation for this position ranges from $21.00 to $36.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
