Special Education Paraprofessional

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and adaptable Special Education Paraprofessionals for school-based opportunities in the San Francisco, California area. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, communication, and physical needs.
Position Overview
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work alongside teachers and support staff to help students reach their academic, social, and developmental goals. Successful candidates are team players who are flexible, student-focused, and committed to providing support wherever campus needs are greatest.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students receiving special education services
Assist with classroom instruction and implementation of educational plans
Support students with behavioral, social-emotional, and communication needs
Assist with daily living activities, including feeding, toileting, diapering, mobility assistance, and other student care needs as assigned
Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, nurses, and school staff to support student success
Adapt to changing campus and student needs throughout the school year
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
Associate's degree or higher; OR
Completion of at least 48 college units and a high school diploma; OR
Passing score on the CBEST and a high school diploma; OR
Passing score on an Instructional Aide Examination and a high school diploma
Additional qualifications may be preferred or required for certain specialized assignments, including:
Experience working with students with behavioral or social-emotional needs
CPR and First Aid certification
Experience supporting students with medical or physical health needs
Sign language proficiency
Experience assisting visually impaired students
Vocational Nursing licensure for applicable roles
Preferred Experience
Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, Instructional Aide, Behavioral Aide, or similar support role
Experience working with students in educational settings
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to support students with a wide range of educational, behavioral, and physical needs
Willingness to assist wherever needed on campus and contribute to a team-oriented environment
Schedule
Hours vary based on assignment level:
Pre-K: Approximately 4.5 hours per day
Elementary School: Approximately 5.5 hours per day
Middle School: Approximately 6.5 hours per day
High School: Approximately 6.5 hours per day
