Job Description

A school district in San Francisco, California is seeking a qualified Paraprofessional for a fulltime, schoolbased contract. This position serves K12 students and focuses on supporting classroom instruction, student engagement, and behavioral needs. Candidates must meet state and district paraprofessional requirements and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting student success in an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support under the direction of a licensed teacher or special education staff
  • Assist students with academic tasks, assignments, and instructional activities
  • Provide 1:1 or smallgroup support for students with learning or behavioral needs
  • Support implementation of IEPs and behavior intervention plans
  • Assist with classroom management and help maintain a structured learning environment
  • Support students with socialemotional development and daily routines
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow district policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Meet one of the following requirements:
    • Associates degree or higher, OR
    • Minimum of 48 college units and a high school diploma, OR
    • Passing score on the CBEST and a high school diploma, OR
    • Passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam and a high school diploma
  • Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Education or a related field preferred

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
  • Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges strongly preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructional plans and behavior strategies
  • Strong classroom support and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Commitment to supporting diverse student populations

Work Hours

  • MondayFriday
  • 8:00 AM 3:30 PM
  • Approximately 3740 hours per week
