Sunbelt Staffing is partnering with a leading California district to hire dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessionals for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact, supporting students with diverse learning and physical needs across Pre-K through high school programs.
Position Overview
Paraprofessionals will support students with special needs in classroom and community settings. Assignments are campus-based, and staff must be flexible and team-oriented, assisting wherever student needs are greatest.
All candidates must be comfortable supporting a full range of student care responsibilities, including but not limited to toileting, diapering, feeding, and assistance with medical or mobility needs. Team players who demonstrate adaptability and commitment will have the strongest opportunity for continued placement into the next school year.
ESY Program Details
Program Dates:
June 15, 2026 July 10 or July 17, 2026 (dependent on assignment)
No school on June 19 and July 3
Schedules by Program:
Pre-K: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM (June 15 July 10)
Elementary: 7:50 AM 12:30 PM (June 15 July 10)
Middle: 9:00 AM 1:00 PM (June 15 July 10)
High School / ACCESS: 9:00 AM 2:00 PM (June 15 July 17)
County Programs: 9:00 AM 3:00 PM (June 15 July 17; includes lunch)
Potential School Sites Include:
Pre-K: San Miguel EES, Argonne EES, Havard PK @ Carver ES, Guadalupe EES, Zaida T. Rodriguez EES, Tule Elk Park EES, R. Weill EES, John McLaren EES
Elementary: Tenderloin Community School, RL Stevenson Elementary, Lawton Alternative, ER Taylor Elementary
Middle: Hoover Middle School
High School / ACCESS: Balboa HS, Lowell HS, Mission HS
County Programs: McAuley Civic Center
Minimum Qualifications (S10 / S10A)
Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
Associates degree or higher
Completion of 48 college units and a high school diploma
Passing CBEST with a high school diploma
Passing the Instructional Aide Exam with a high school diploma
Additional Preferred Qualifications (Higher-Level Classifications)
Candidates with the following experience or certifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
S10E: Seizure response training + current CPR/First Aid
S10F: CPR/First Aid + training in specialized medical care (e.g., G-tube feeding, glucose testing, asthma support, oxygen support)
S10Q: Experience supporting students with significant behavioral or social-emotional needs
S10W: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 5 hours)
S20D: Fluency in sign language and knowledge of Deaf culture
S20V: Coursework or experience in Braille/visual impairment support
S22: California LVN license with CPR/First Aid certification
Responsibilities
Support instructional and behavioral plans under teacher supervision
Assist students with daily living activities and mobility
Implement safety and health procedures as trained
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff
