This full-time role focuses on providing essential 1:1 support to behaviorally challenged students, helping them thrive in their educational environment. Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a school paraprofessional, preferably with middle school-aged children
- Comfort and skill working 1:1 with students who have behavioral challenges
- Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and level-headed when faced with difficult situations
- Strong communication skills, collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in behavioral support a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Offer consistent, proactive assistance to assigned students throughout the school day
- Implement strategies and interventions designed by instructional and behavior support teams
- Monitor student behavior and progress, documenting observations according to school guidelines
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Encourage student participation, independence, and growth both academically and socially
