Qualifications:
- Two years of college credits from an accredited institution, or
- An associate degree or higher, or
- Passing score on an approved academic assessment (ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or
- Demonstrated competencies per the state-approved competency grid
- PCA certificate, or willingness to obtain (quick, free certification available)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment
Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in providing academic and behavioral assistance to students with special needs
- Follow prescribed instructional and behavior intervention plans
- Encourage student independence and confidence within classroom and community settings
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and daily routines
- Engage positively with students, staff, and families
