Make an immediate impact in a specialized education setting as a vital part of the team supporting young learners with unique needs. Exciting full-time opportunities are available for Educational Assistants (Paraprofessionals) in a center-based special education program. The contract runs through the current school year, with potential for renewal based on program needs.
In this dynamic role, you'll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to assist students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. Responsibilities span from academic and behavioral support to personal care and daily living activitiesall while helping implement individualized IEP accommodations and behavior plans. Your efforts will play a key part in maintaining a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment for students requiring additional support.
To be considered, candidates must meet one of the following:
- Hold an Associates degree or higher
- Have a minimum of 60 completed college credit hours
- Achieve a passing score on a state-approved paraprofessional assessment (e.g., ParaPro Assessment)
Preferred experience includes:
- Prior experience as a school-based paraprofessional or educational assistant
- Supporting students with ASD, EBD, or moderate to severe special needs
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies such as PBIS, ABA, or CPI
- Comfort providing personal care and toileting support as needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
This is a 5-day-per-week, full-time contract position with immediate start. The schedule will be determined with the school. You'll collaborate and grow professionally in a supportive and mission-driven environment.
