We are seeking individuals skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and experienced in providing paraprofessional support to enhance the educational experience for students and assist teachers. Collaboration, compassion, and strong communication abilities are key for success in this role.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and experience using ASL in educational or professional settings
  • Background as a paraprofessional, sign language interpreter, or ASL teacher preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Familiarity with adapting instruction for students with unique communication needs
  • Patience, flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff using ASL
  • Provide classroom support, reinforcing learning objectives and assisting with activities
  • Support students individually or in small groups to ensure understanding and engagement
  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement individualized strategies
