Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across El Dorado County as a contract paraprofessional. Youll make an immediate impact by working directly with students who have moderate to severe needs, helping to foster a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment. Your expertise and compassionate approach will be central to helping students achieve their goals both in classroom settings and through 1:1 support.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional, behavioral technician, or classroom aide, especially in special education environments
  • Active CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and CPR certifications are required
  • Flexibility and commitment to travel anywhere within El Dorado County, including El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs, Placerville, Camino, and potentially as far as Lake Tahoe
  • Comfortable managing and de-escalating high-behavior needs in students
  • Adaptability to work both 1:1 with students and in a classroom support role
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with teachers and related staff

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students with moderate to severe behavioral and learning needs
  • Assist with individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to deliver consistent academic and behavioral guidance
  • Maintain a safe, structured environment utilizing CPI techniques when necessary
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere for all students
  • Adapt responsibilities as needed to fit changing daily assignments and student needs
