Job Description
Support elementary students in a full-time paraprofessional role within a dynamic school setting in Providence, RI. This contract position runs through June 16, 2026, offering consistent hours of 32.5 per week to assist students requiring behavioral and instructional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group instructional and behavioral assistance to students, particularly those with behavioral challenges.
- Implement classroom accommodations to support individualized education plans.
- Assist students with daily transitions and community-based outings.
- Supervise students during bus rides as needed.
- Support in varied elementary-level positions, either classroom-based or 1:1 assignments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must meet one of the following: Passing ParaPro score of 461 or higher, Two years of college credit, Associates degree or higher, Valid Teacher Assistant certification from another state.
- Completion or current enrollment in a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program.
- Minimum of one year experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional supporting behavioral students.
