What youll bring:

  • Experience or passion for working with children with learning disabilities and/or Autism
  • Understanding of positive behavior reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to follow instructional plans and collaborate with teachers and support staff
  • Excellent communication skills and patience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or coursework preferred)
  • Flexibility to adapt in fast-paced, evolving classroom environments
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to student growth and well-being

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing individualized educational plans
  • Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and student engagement
  • Support students social, emotional, and academic development
  • Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by special education staff
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to lead teachers
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation
  • Aid with classroom organization and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
