What youll bring:
- Experience or passion for working with children with learning disabilities and/or Autism
- Understanding of positive behavior reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to follow instructional plans and collaborate with teachers and support staff
- Excellent communication skills and patience
- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or coursework preferred)
- Flexibility to adapt in fast-paced, evolving classroom environments
- Strong work ethic and commitment to student growth and well-being
Key responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing individualized educational plans
- Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and student engagement
- Support students social, emotional, and academic development
- Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by special education staff
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to lead teachers
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation
- Aid with classroom organization and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
