What youll bring:
- Previous paraprofessional experience in an educational setting is highly valued
- Ability to work effectively with K-2 age students, fostering engagement and participation
- Compassion, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility in assisting with both instruction and personal care
- Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset, collaborating with educators and support staff
- ISBE Approval or Short Term Approval (can be obtained easily before the school year begins)
- Physical ability to assist with lifting, feeding, and toileting as needed
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support under classroom teacher direction, assisting individual or small groups of students with daily activities
- Engage children in classroom routines and learning experiences, adapting tasks as necessary to individual needs
- Provide personal care assistance to students, including toileting, feeding, and lifting, maintaining dignity and safety at all times
- Contribute to a supportive classroom community and a positive school culture
- Communicate professionally with teachers, therapists, and family members as part of the student support team
