Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a specialized education setting. A full-time paraprofessional is needed to provide one-on-one assistance to a student with emotional disabilities and diabetes. This assignment begins as soon as possible and is expected to last at least four months, with the possibility to extend up to a year. Work a steady Monday through Friday schedule from 8am to 4pm, making a positive impact each day.

Your experience as a paraprofessional will be invaluable in this role, guiding a student who benefits from individualized support within a dedicated environment designed for learners needing extra care and understanding.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Paraprofessional Certification and PEL with Paraprofessional endorsement
  • Previous experience in a school or special education setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to provide patient, compassionate support to students with emotional disabilities
  • Comfort managing medical needs, specifically diabetes management (with training provided as needed)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

What Youll Do:

  • Offer individualized academic and behavioral support to a student throughout the school day
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and specialists to implement educational and care plans
  • Monitor and assist with daily diabetes management as directed by the care team
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured environment to encourage student growth
  • Maintain clear documentation of support strategies and student progress
