Step into a rewarding summer opportunity as a 1:1 aide or teacher assistant, supporting students in the Elmira, NY area and Eastern host sites. This contract position offers an engaging summer scheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pmperfect for professionals seeking a meaningful role with a set routine. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active NY State License/Certificate required for Teacher Assistants
- For Aides, certification may be required, but strong 1:1 support experience is highly valued
- Prior experience working with students in a school or special education setting preferred
- Strong communication, empathy, and adaptability
- Ability to follow individualized student programs and collaborate with teachers
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to assigned students during summer session
- Assist with classroom activities, student engagement, and individualized programming
- Support students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and report student progress as needed
- Follow all school and program protocols
What to Expect:
- Contract opportunity with approximately 27.5 hours per week
- Weekday schedule that keeps your evenings and weekends free
- Experience working closely with teachers and students in a collaborative environment
- Play a vital role in supporting student success during summer programming
