Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students in a dynamic, inclusive educational setting. This contract paraprofessional opportunity centers on assisting in specialized classrooms at a center-based program. The role is designed for dedicated professionals who are comfortable with all facets of student supportincluding personal care and toileting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must be highly qualified by one of the following:
    • Passing the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam
    • Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
  • Willingness and ability to provide direct personal care, including toileting support
  • Experience working in an educational setting, especially with students requiring additional support, is preferred
  • Strong communication, reliability, and professionalism in interactions with students and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily academic and social support to middle school students in a setting 2-3 classroom
  • Maintain a positive, respectful classroom atmosphere and follow individualized plans for students
  • Assist licensed teachers with classroom activities, organization, and management
  • Collaborate with school staff to help meet both academic and care needs of students
  • Ensure students safety, comfort, and cleanliness, including toileting and hygiene tasks as needed

Additional Details:

  • Contract position: approximately August 31, 2026, to November 29, 2026 (90-day contracting period)
  • Full-time hours, 32.5 per week, Monday through Friday
  • Pay is set at $20 per hour
  • Upon conclusion of 422 contract hours, candidates may transition to direct district employment
