Job Description

Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a dynamic special education environment. This contract paraprofessional position offers you the chance to work within a Setting 4 site, serving students who require full-day specialized education. The role is based at a progressive learning center, welcoming students in grades ranging from elementary through high school.

In this position, you will make a tangible impact by assisting students with diverse and significant needs. Youll collaborate closely with certified educators and related services staff to create an inclusive, supportive, and structured environment for learners who need it most. The assignment runs from September 2026 through early June 2027, requiring a commitment of 32.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must be Highly Qualified (meet one of the following):
    • Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (submit official passing score)
    • OR provide transcripts showing a minimum of 60 college credits
  • Resume and Highly Qualified Document (transcript or exam result) must be submitted for consideration
  • Experience working with individuals displaying challenging behaviors and/or severe disabilities is essential
  • Comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care needs
  • Ability and willingness to work with students across elementary, middle, and high school age ranges

Primary Duties:

  • Provide academic and behavioral support throughout the school day
  • Assist students with all daily activities, including mobility and personal care
  • Maintain a consistent, therapeutic, and safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families

As part of this role, you will receive compensation at a rate of $20 per hour and will be eligible for direct employment within the district following the initial contract period.
