This contract position, based near Orono and Bangor, ME, offers the opportunity to collaborate with teaching staff in a dynamic educational setting. Ed Techs play a key role assisting in classrooms, helping students reach their potential, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a Paraprofessional or Ed Tech in a school setting is preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to follow teacher instructions and school protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or Ed Tech certification preferred
- Patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude
Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students in large and small groups, as well as one-on-one assistance
- Help implement lesson plans and classroom activities as directed by certified teachers
- Support students with special needs by adapting materials, reinforcing learning, and encouraging participation
- Monitor student behavior and promote positive classroom management
- Assist in preparing instructional materials and organizing classroom resources
- Participate in professional development sessions as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold school policies at all times
