Embark on a fulfilling contract assignment supporting K-12 students with special needs as a paraprofessional in Bucks Countys thriving schools. Youll join a dynamic substitute pool, stepping into critical roles as openings arise in Quakertown, Levittown, and Perkasie. With significant ongoing demand, your experience will help maintain stability and continuity for students requiring moderate to high-intensity behavioral and autism support. Immediate deployment is possible for qualified candidates who complete clearances and mandatory orientation.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- At least 1 year of recent school-based paraprofessional experience working in special education classrooms (PreK-12) with children facing severe autism, behavioral challenges, and intensive safety needs.
- Minimum of two professional references specific to previous paraprofessional roles.
- Must reside within a 35-minute commute of the assignment areas.
- Availability for the full school schedule: 37.5 hours/week, with flexibility between 6:45 AM 4:01 PM.
- Eligible for or willing to obtain Pennsylvania paraprofessional certification within 60 days if not already credentialed.
- Mandatory attendance at a comprehensive, week-long orientation before assignment begins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and classroom-based behavioral support to students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors.
- Implement individualized behavior plans and promote student safety at all times.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, feeding, and transferring when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to help students achieve academic and behavioral goals.
- Stay adaptable, as assignments and locations may shift according to district needs.
