Job Description

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required at the time of application (pending permits not accepted; pending status must be confirmed with a DEEDS portal screenshot).
  • Experience providing behavioral and instructional support, ideally in an elementary school setting.
  • Understanding of strategies for guiding students with intensive needs in both academic and behavioral contexts.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to adapt to evolving circumstances.
  • Willingness to complete CBC fingerprinting for $85 as a prerequisite for hire.
  • If holding an RBT certification, candidates must secure their own supervision externally; the school district does not provide or endorse RBT supervision.

Position Details & Responsibilities:

  • Full-time onsite contract schedule: Monday to Friday, 35 hours weekly with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
  • Directly support a student at the elementary school level who benefits from a 1:2 adult-to-student support ratio.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, behavioral specialists, and other paraprofessionals to implement academic and behavioral plans tailored to each students needs.
  • Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Record progress, follow specific guidance, and communicate effectively with both school staff and the students family.
