Bring your expertise as a Paraprofessional to a supportive, specialized school environment near New Orleans, LA! This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through May 27, 2027, providing full-time hours (35 per week, MondayFriday) aligned with the regular school calendar.
Youll work in lower teacher-to-pupil ratio classrooms, supporting students who communicate in complex ways and, at times, demonstrate challenging behaviors. Many students are on the autism spectrum or have related disabilities, so experience in these areas is vital. Your collaborative approach will empower students growth and success every day.
What were looking for:
- Associates Degree, OR ParaPro assessment score of at least 450, OR completion of 48 semester credit hours (per district requirements)
- Previous classroom experience is essential
- Ability to read and understand IEPs
- Comfort working with children who have autism or related disabilities
- Preferred but not required: CPI training, de-escalation skills, substantial behavioral support experience, CPR certification
- Willingness to complete all time-sensitive credentialing, including drug screening, fingerprints, and background checks
