Job Description
We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Paraprofessionals and RBTs with ABA training to support students in specialized autism classrooms. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside teachers, BCBAs, and educational professionals helping students achieve academic, social, and behavioral success.
Candidates with strong ABA and autism experience are highly preferred, especially those who have worked in school-based settings and provided one-on-one support.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and/or 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Implement behavior intervention strategies and ABA principles throughout the school day.
- Support students with academic instruction, social skills, communication, and daily routines.
- Assist teachers and related service providers in maintaining a structured learning environment.
- Collect behavioral and academic data as directed by classroom staff and BCBAs.
- Reinforce positive behaviors and help students develop independence.
- Support students during transitions, classroom activities, and school-wide routines.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, BCBAs, and school administrators.
Classroom Information
- Autism program setting serving Preschool through Elementary students.
- Maximum classroom size of 6 students.
- Staffed with 1 Teacher and 2 Paraprofessionals.
- Some candidates may be assigned to a dedicated 1:1 student support role.
- Additional grade-level opportunities may be available based on candidate preference and experience.
Candidates must have one of the following:
- Associate's Degree or higher OR
- Minimum of 48 college credits OR
- Paraprofessional Certification/Exam
For RBTs:
Candidates must have:
- Active RBT Certification OR
- Verified ABA training and relevant autism experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of ABA experience
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Previous 1:1 support experience
- School-based experience preferred
- Experience supporting students with moderate to severe behavioral needs
Physical & Student Care Responsibilities
Candidates must be comfortable with:
- Toileting assistance
- Changing students when necessary
- Bathroom support
- Assisting students with daily living activities
Candidates should also be comfortable working with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors, including:
- Hitting
- Kicking
- Biting
- Elopement or behavioral escalation
Training and support will be provided by school staff and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
