Make a meaningful impact working as a Paraprofessional in a supportive school environment near Naugatuck, CT. This contract opportunity is available immediately and runs through the end of the academic year, offering a chance to work full-time at one dedicated school. Collaborate closely with teachers and other education professionals to support students learning and growth.
This position focuses primarily on K-5 students, providing individualized and small group assistance within general and special education settings. Utilize your skills to help students navigate their daily routines, reinforce academic concepts, and encourage positive classroom behavior. Those with credentials as a Para or RBT are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, Para, or RBT highly valued
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged students (K-5)
- Ability to deliver patience, empathy, and encouragement in all student interactions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators and students alike
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students academic, social, and behavioral goals under teacher guidance
- Provide direct assistance to individuals and small groups during classroom instruction
- Implement teacher-developed strategies and behavioral plans
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of learning materials, and supervision during transitions
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
- Maintain accurate data and reports as needed
