Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with children, particularly in a school or educational environment, is strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in special education or related fields a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and provide individualized support as needed
- Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude
- Willingness to work with students who may have diverse learning needs or behavioral challenges
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students individually or in small groups, under the supervision of a licensed teacher
- Assist with instructional activities and classroom routines to promote a positive and productive learning environment
- Support students with their academic, physical, or behavioral needs according to their individual education plan (IEP) if applicable
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates student diversity and encourages participation
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized classroom space
- Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and other non-instructional times to ensure safety
