Job Description

In this position, you will work a consistent schedule of 31 hours per week, offering both meaningful interaction and work-life balance. Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Valid California Paraprofessional License
  • Experience with or desire to work in a school for the Deaf
  • Previous service as a paraprofessional or in educational settings preferred
  • Ability to engage with students across grades K12
  • Understanding and compliance with state and district certification requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to students and teachers, facilitating communication using ASL
  • Assist in both academic and social activities, adapting instruction to individual student needs
  • Collaborate with teaching and professional staff to maintain an inclusive and accessible learning environment
  • Support students during classroom transitions, extracurricular activities, and other school-related functions
