Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting early learners during the Extended School Year program. This contract opportunity offers the chance to help elementary students thrive and grow in a supportive educational environment near Minneapolis, MN from July 6th to July 23rd. Orientation will be held in June, with details to be shared soon.

Work Monday through Thursday, from 8:45 AM to 2:15 PM, for a total of 20 hours per week (including a 30-minute lunch). Positions are available at three different sites, offering the chance to work closely with individual students or assist classroom teachers as needed. Your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful as you help students with both academic and behavioral support.

Qualifications:

  • Paraprofessional Certification (Para Test) required
  • Alternately, an Associates degree, two years of college (60 semester or 90 quarter credits), or higher from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with young students in an educational setting is highly valued
  • Compassion, reliability, and a collaborative spirit are must-haves
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to varying classroom needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for elementary students
  • Assist teachers with academic and behavioral guidance
  • Aid with classroom management and instructional activities
  • Foster an encouraging and inclusive learning environment
  • Implement instructional strategies as directed by classroom teachers
