Seeking dedicated professionals with a passion for making a difference in students lives to support education as paraprofessionals in Yuba County. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours (37.5 per week, Monday through Friday) working closely with students at Virginia School. Your essential support will help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting teachers by assisting with classroom activities and individualized instruction
• Providing direct assistance to students with Level 3 Autism, including those with very intensive needs
• Implementing individualized education plans and behavior intervention strategies
• Promoting inclusion in classroom and school activities
• Assisting with personal care tasks and ensuring a safe, structured environment
• Collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families to foster consistent support
• Documenting progress and daily activities as required

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional or in special education settings
• Background supporting students with significant behavioral, academic, or functional needs
• Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder, with particular comfort working with high-needs (Level 3) cases
• Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and patient in challenging classrooms
• Understanding of non-verbal communication, sensory sensitivities, or behavioral interventions
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in special education is a plus
• Commitment to reliability, teamwork, and positive student outcomes
