Key Qualifications:
- Paraprofessional certification or Associates degree required
- Experience in ABA or ERI programs is advantageous, but not mandatory
- Strong commitment to supporting students with behavioral challenges
- Capable of managing severe behaviors within a behavioral program
- Willingness to learn and participate in provided training
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist and motivate students with severe behavioral needs as they progress through highly structured academic and behavioral programs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and team members to implement individualized plans
- Promote a supportive, safe, and structured learning environment
- Employ de-escalation strategies and adhere to safety protocols (training provided)
- Foster social, emotional, and educational development for students who require significant behavioral support
- Consistently model positive interactions and contribute to students ability to succeed in a restrictive educational setting
- No toileting duties requiredstudents are generally independent in self-care
