Job Description
Take on a meaningful role supporting high school students as a highly-qualified paraprofessional in a contract position near Maple Grove, MN. Work within a collaborative educational environment at one of several high schools, with opportunities available at Blaine, Champlin Park, or Coon Rapids. This contract runs approximately from August 31, 2026, through November 29, 2026, with the potential to transition to a direct hire after 422 contracting hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be highly qualified by one of the following:
- Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
- Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
- Resume and highly qualified documentation are mandatory for consideration
- Willingness to assist with toileting and other essential support tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with students and staff
- Dependability and a commitment to a MondayFriday schedule of 32.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students and instructional staff within the classroom and throughout the school day
- Assist with personal care, including toileting, under the guidance of special education or general education teams
- Foster a positive learning environment and encourage student engagement
- Adapt to varying needs and schedules within the assigned high school
- Participate in team meetings, collaborate on student plans, and communicate effectively with staff and families
