1:1 High School Personal Care Assistant Life Skills Program

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a full-time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Special Education Paraprofessional for a 1:1 school-based contract position in Manheim, Pennsylvania, for the 20262027 school year. This role supports a high school student in a life skills program who benefits from consistent prompting, supervision, and mobility support. This is an expedited opening, and the school is looking to fill the position as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Prompt and redirect the student as needed to remain engaged and on task.
• Walk closely alongside the student to provide safety and mobility support.
• Support participation in community-based activities and vocational experiences.
• Assist with job readiness and employment-building activities.
• Support the student's participation in the school's coffee cart program.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote independence and student success.

Student Profile

• High school student enrolled in a life skills program.
• Intellectual disability.
• May become off task and benefits from prompting and redirection.
• Some difficulty walking in a straight line and requires close supervision while walking.
• No significant behavioral concerns reported.

Qualifications

Special education paraprofessionals must meet at least one of the following:

• Associate degree or higher.
• At least two years of postsecondary study.
• Successful completion of a state- or locally-developed assessment.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to provide attentive, compassionate, and consistent 1:1 support.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required Pennsylvania school clearances.
