This contract position offers an opportunity to provide steady emotional encouragement, academic guidance, and reliable transit companionship for a student who is sweet and mild-manneredthough she may occasionally be resistant to support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional, teachers aide, or similar educational support role
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor for standby emotional support
  • Punctuality and reliabilitytimely arrival is essential to utilize district transportation
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a trusting relationship with the student
  • Ability to support learning, with emphasis on high school history coursework
  • Willingness to travel between locations as needed (district-provided bus and internship site)
  • Flexibility during Friday internship/flex days to assist both on- and off-site
  • Availability for an immediate start, with readiness to complete required Vector training

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ride the district bus from Sanborn High School to Impact Academy in Dover and back, Monday through Thursday, accompanying the student as a supportive presence throughout
  • Offer academic assistance after returning to the high school, focusing on coursework completion (mainly history)
  • On Fridays, accompany the student to a 5-hour car detailing internship, ensuring emotional support and safety
  • Remain flexible on Fridays; if the student does not require support, assist with other duties at the high school

This role will have you working 3537 hours per week, making a direct impact during a pivotal year for the student.
