Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
- Background working with behaviorally challenged students, preferably at the middle school level
- Ability to implement behavior intervention strategies and follow individualized plans
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to the dynamic needs of students
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality and promoting a positive atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with assigned students, providing consistent guidance and behavioral support throughout the school day
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support educational and behavioral goals
- Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
- Foster a nurturing, respectful, and safe environment for student learning and personal growth
- Support classroom activities, routines, and transitions as needed
- Accurately document observations and progress, reporting to the appropriate team members
- Encourage independence and social skills while maintaining clear, supportive boundaries
