Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
  • Background working with behaviorally challenged students, preferably at the middle school level
  • Ability to implement behavior intervention strategies and follow individualized plans
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to the dynamic needs of students
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and promoting a positive atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with assigned students, providing consistent guidance and behavioral support throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support educational and behavioral goals
  • Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions
  • Foster a nurturing, respectful, and safe environment for student learning and personal growth
  • Support classroom activities, routines, and transitions as needed
  • Accurately document observations and progress, reporting to the appropriate team members
  • Encourage independence and social skills while maintaining clear, supportive boundaries
