Key Qualifications:

  • ISBE Approval or Short Term Approval (process is straightforward)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially in group and one-on-one instructional settings
  • Comfort supporting personal care needs such as toileting, feeding, and occasional lifting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
  • Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily classroom instruction and activities for K-2 students
  • Support teachers in implementing individualized education plans and curriculum
  • Provide attentive supervision and assist students with personal care needs as needed
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe atmosphere that encourages student engagement
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when supporting students with diverse abilities
