Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting early learners in a vibrant K-2 instructional program classroom. As a paraprofessional, youll make an impact providing daily guidance and encouragement in an educational setting near Machesney Park, IL. This onsite position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:50am3:10pm, with a single school caseload for the 26/27 academic year.
Leverage your dedication and compassion to help students thrive both academically and personally. Collaborate closely with teachers, contribute to lesson implementation, and offer essential support to young learners requiring additional assistance, including some direct personal care such as toileting, feeding, and lifting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ISBE Approval or Short Term Approval (this credential is straightforward to obtain)
- Experience or genuine interest in working with K-2 students in instructional settings
- Ability to assist with personal care tasks as needed
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to take direction from lead teachers
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to supporting children
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities
- Provide individualized instruction and personal support to students
- Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all students
- Monitor and encourage student progress during learning activities
- Support daily routines, including meals and toileting as needed
