Job Description

Youll play an active role in academic instruction as well as essential daily caremaking a real difference in young learners lives.

Position Highlights:

  • Work onsite at a single school in a K-2 Instructional Program Classroom
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 35 hours per week (7:50am3:10pm)
  • Primarily classroom instruction with some personal care responsibilities, including toileting, feeding, and lifting
  • Serve as a valued support for both students and teachers throughout the school day

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ISBE Approval or Short Term Approval (a straightforward process if not already in hand)
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school support capacity preferred
  • Ability and willingness to assist students with personal care needs, showing empathy and professionalism
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators and young children

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers with lesson delivery, differentiated instruction, and classroom activities
  • Aid students in following classroom routines and engaging with learning materials
  • Provide personal care when necessary to promote comfort, safety, and dignity
  • Foster an encouraging, supportive environment for all students
