This contract opportunity is ideal for an ASL Paraprofessional who is fluent in American Sign Language and enjoys working with students. You'll provide essential assistance across several sites, ensuring that communication barriers do not stand in the way of learning and personal growth.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or similar support role in a school setting
• Comfortable working at various sites within the district
• EIPA certification is not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude
• Availability for consistent, part-time afternoon hours (2:30-6PM daily)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in after-school programs, serving as an effective bridge for communication
• Assist with academic and social activities, engaging students to ensure participation and understanding
• Foster an inclusive environment through patient and empathetic interactions
• Collaborate with educators and fellow staff to develop and implement accommodations for students using sign language
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging atmosphere for youth

This position offers scheduled hours of 2:30-6PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to balance work and personal commitments. With a weekly workload of 20-24 hours, youll play a crucial role during an important time in students daily routines as they explore new interests and build confidence outside traditional classroom hours.
