Job Description

This contract opportunity offers paraprofessional candidates the chance to make a difference in elementary, middle, and high school environments. Openings are available in SPED classrooms, providing both 1:1 and general support, so adaptability and a collaborative spirit are highly valued. Candidates must be comfortable assisting with toileting, changing, and managing a range of behaviors, ensuring every child receives the care and assistance they need to thrive.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Substitute Certificate listed on the DESE website (required)
  • Experience working as a paraprofessional in school settings, preferably across multiple grade levels
  • Familiarity with SPED classrooms and behavioral support
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to float between classrooms or school sites as needed
  • Comfortable with personal care support, including toileting and changing

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily classroom and/or individualized support for students with special needs across a range of grade levels
  • Assist certified teachers in instructional duties, student supervision, and behavior management
  • Foster a safe, positive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
  • Implement teacher-directed strategies for supporting student engagement and communication
  • Adapt quickly to new assignments; willingness to work in various school buildings and grade levels as required

Schedules are tailored by school level:

  • Middle School: 7:00am 2:30pm
  • High School: 7:30am 3:00pm
  • Elementary School: 8:30am 4:00pm or 9:00am 4:30pm
