Job Description
Seeking skilled paraprofessionals to support special education classrooms in a dynamic school district in Liberty, MO. This per diem opportunity offers flexible work schedules across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools within the district, primarily assisting students with behavioral needs and individualized education plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or classroom support to students with special education needs, including behavioral interventions and toileting assistance
- Follow behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support positive student outcomes
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Respond to call outs and cover shifts via the districts scheduling app, working 1-5 days weekly as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active substitute or paraprofessional certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) prior to starting
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges in school settings
- Ability to complete fingerprint clearance specific to the district
- Flexibility to work varied schedules:
- Middle school: 7:00 AM 2:30 PM
- High school: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM 4:30 PM
Location:
- Serving 33 schools primarily in the elementary level within a Missouri school district near Liberty
Position Details:
- Per diem contract with no guaranteed hours; paid only for shifts worked
- Shift assignments managed through a mobile app, allowing schedule visibility and selection
- Immediate start with ongoing work through summer extended school year (ESY) sessions
