This opportunity offers a guaranteed 30-hour per week contract role as a substitute paraprofessional supporting special education classrooms across a large school district in Liberty, Missouri. The assignment involves covering staff absences in various schools throughout the district, primarily in elementary settings, with occasional middle and high school placements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in special education classrooms, including those with behavioral challenges and individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
• Assist with toileting and personal care as needed
• Provide one-on-one or classroom aide support depending on assignment
• Adapt to varied schedules and school environments within the district
• Use the Spindle app to receive and accept substitute assignments

Qualifications:

• Active Substitute Paraprofessional certification through DESE
• Experience working in schools, specifically with behavior support and special education students
• Willingness and ability to assist with toileting and manage challenging behaviors
• Completion of required fingerprinting for district employment
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including start times ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Schedule:

• Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, typically covering at least four days
• Elementary school hours generally between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
• Middle and high school schedules vary from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location:

• Positions available across 33 schools primarily within elementary settings in Liberty, Missouri

Compensation:

• $24.50 per hour
