Take on a meaningful role supporting students as a per diem paraprofessional throughout a dynamic K-12 school district. Covering contractor call outs, youll work across various sites mainly elementary schools assisting in SPED classrooms and working closely with students who may need additional behavioral or physical support. With flexible scheduling and opportunities to pick up shifts up to five days a week, youll gain valuable experience and help create positive learning environments where every student can succeed.
Key Qualifications:
- Current or in-process active Substitute Certificate on MO DESE (must be active before starting)
- Previous experience supporting students in schools, especially those with behavior needs or implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Comfortable supporting students 1:1 or within classroom aide roles, including toileting assistance if needed
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting (specific to district requirements)
- Familiarity with mobile apps for shift selection and scheduling
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing instructional and behavioral support to students within SPED classrooms
- Following behavior intervention plans and assisting with behavior management strategies
- Collaborating with teachers, related service staff, and other paraprofessionals
- Adapting quickly to new students, schedules, and school environments
- Supporting student safety, personal care needs, and academic engagement
