Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a paraprofessional in a dynamic Missouri school district. Openings are available across 22 elementary, 6 middle, and 5 high schools, serving both general and special education classrooms. Flexible individuals are highly valued, as specific assignments may involve 1:1 support or assisting multiple classrooms. Immediate and upcoming needs are anticipated for June ESY (Extended School Year) and the new school year starting in August.

Ideal candidates enjoy making a difference in SPED environments, are comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care, and have experience managing various student behaviors. Flexibility with school assignments is preferred, but preferences for grade levels can be accommodated where possible.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a paraprofessional, especially in special education settings
  • Active Substitute Certificate listed on the DESE website (check status prior to applying)
  • Ability to handle toileting, personal care, and behavioral support tasks
  • Willingness to float between grade levels and school sites as needed
  • Flexible and positive attitude; ready to support both 1:1 and classroom situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on academic and behavioral support to students under teacher direction
  • Assist with daily living skills, including toileting and personal care for students
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and staff to meet student needs
  • Support smooth classroom operation, adapting to changing assignments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure student safety at all times

Schedules vary by assignmentmiddle schools (7:00 am2:30 pm), high schools (7:30 am3:00 pm), and elementary (starting 8:30 or 9:00 am).
